Frequently asked questions
Everything about running and joining claim sales on Claimheist. Missing an answer? Write us at hello@claimheist.com.
What is a claim sale?
A claim sale is a first-come, first-served sale used in collector communities: the seller posts items at fixed prices, shares one link, and the first buyer to claim an item gets it. No bidding, no auction timers — the fastest claim wins.
How is the winner decided?
By one atomic database write. The first claim to land is the only one that can succeed — two people physically cannot win the same item, no matter how close they click. The verdict is made server-side, to the millisecond, not by reading comment timestamps.
Do buyers need an account?
No. Buyers open the link, enter a display handle and an email, and claim. That's it — no signup, no password. Only sellers create accounts.
Is Claimheist free?
Yes — free while we build with the first sellers. Paid seller plans may come later, but claiming will always be free for buyers.
How do buyers pay?
Off-platform, directly between buyer and seller — MobilePay, bank transfer or in person. Claimheist never touches the money and takes no cut of your sales.
What happens if I claim too late?
You'll see immediately that the item went to someone else, and the card locks for everyone at the same moment. No silent losses, no arguing in the comments afterwards.
Where do the market prices come from?
From the Cardheist price catalog, which tracks live retailer prices for TCG and LEGO products. When a seller links an item to the catalog, buyers see the current market price next to the asking price — so a good deal is visible, not claimed.
Can I use it for my Facebook group, Discord or subreddit?
That's exactly what it's built for. Run the conversation wherever your community lives, and share one Claimheist link when it's time to sell — the claiming happens on a neutral, fair surface.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Every page is built mobile-first, and Claimheist is an installable web app (PWA) — sellers can keep the dashboard one tap away.
What data do you collect?
Only what a sale needs: seller accounts, and for buyers a handle, an email and their claims. No tracking, no ads, no analytics scripts, and only the cookies the site needs to work. Hosted in the EU.
What if a winner never pays?
The deal itself is between buyer and seller, like it would be in the group. The seller sees each winner's contact details and verified-email status, and can mark items paid — or relist them if a buyer disappears.
Is it only for TCG and LEGO?
It's built for collectors — TCG and LEGO are where we started, and where the market-price catalog helps most. But nothing stops any community that sells first-come, first-served from using it.
